Whole Foods Market works with the non-profit Cork ReHarvest to recycle corks by providing drop-off boxes in all of their stores. To keep their carbon footprint low, the corks will be picked up by trucks who are already en route to each destination, dropped off at Cork ReHarvest distribution centers, then handed off to FedEx trucks passing by who will drop them off to the recycling partners that are along their delivery routes. Real cork can be recycled, but don't throw it in the recycling bin. Or create your own cool cork stuff! . A plastic cork feels smooth and kind of plastic-y and rubbery.
